EMC and Signal Integrity Training

EMC and Signal Integrity Training

EMC and Signal Integrity Training Course Description

Design for EMC/SI (Electromagnetic Compatibility & Signal Integrity) is our flagship EMC design class. It addresses the control of EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) at the box level through proven design techniques. This three-day course provides a comprehensive treatment of EMC/SI “inside the box.” This includes digital and analog circuits, printed circuit board design, power electronics, I/O treatments, mechanical shielding, and more. Please note – this class does NOT address “outside the box” issues such as cable design, power wiring, and other systems level concerns. Day 3 discusses EMI Troubleshooting Guidelines with case studies. Each student will receive a copy of the EDN Magazine Designer’s Guide to EMC by Daryl Gerke and William Kimmel, along with a complete set of lecture notes.

Duration:3 days

Skills Gained:

• How to identify, prevent, and fix over 30 common EMI/EMC problems in at the box/design level
• Simple models and “rules of thumb” and to help you arrive at quick design decisions (NO heavy math).
• Design impact of various EMC specifications
• Practical tools, tips, and techniques
• Good EMI/EMC design practices

Customize It:

With onsite Training, courses can be scheduled on a date that is convenient for you, and because they can be scheduled at your location, you don’t incur travel costs and students won’t be away from home. Onsite classes can also be tailored to meet your needs. You might shorten a 5-day class into a 3-day class, or combine portions of several related courses into a single course, or have the instructor vary the emphasis of topics depending on your staff’s and site’s requirements.
